Police say a man from East Orange allegedly threatened a bus full of people in New York – claiming he had a gun.
The incident happened Monday around 2:10 p.m. in Chester, New York
Police responded to the CoachUSA bus garage/administrative office building for a report of an irate passenger on a bus claiming he had a gun.
According to police, Jeffery Lane, 49, became disorderly on the bus while the driver proceeded to the bus company headquarters.
Lane claimed he had a gun, threatening the 47 other passengers on board.
When police arrested him, they did not find a gun.
Passengers were removed from the bus, and Lane was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with menacing in the third degree.
He will be in court on Sept. 9.
