Police say the suspect in an hours-long standoff in Ewing today has surrendered peacefully. Authorities say the standoff occurred near the Jones Farm State Correctional Facility following a police chase. Bear Tavern Road was closed off as police negotiated with the suspect.
According to officials, negotiators talked 32-year-old Jeremy Detorres, of Florida, into giving himself up peacefully.
The chase began after police say they attempted to pull over a white SUV in Bucks County, Penn. at around 2 p.m. Pennsylvania police chased him into New Jersey and brought in state officials after the man displayed a gun and pointed it at his head.
Charges for Detorres are pending.
