Two police officers were attacked and injured after responding to a 911 call in Galloway Township Sunday evening.

Police body camera video shows the officers speaking with suspect Keith Kiminski’s mother. He tells the officers that her son has a knife.

The video then appears to show Kiminski walking past his mother and lunging at the officers. Police say he has a pocketknife in his hand.

Officer Erik Tarnow was stabbed in the face and underwent surgery. Another officer suffered minor injuries.

“This incident is another reminder of the dangers that our police officers face on a daily basis,” Chief Richard D. Barber wrote in a statement. “We are grateful that Officer Tarnow is recovering well, and our department will be here to fully support Erik and his family.”

Kiminski faces multiple charges, including attempted murder.
