A 25-year-old man from Mount Vernon was killed losing control of his motorcycle after passing a car in a "no passing" zone.
Police say Cory Hewins was headed north and speeding Friday night near the 600 block of South Columbus Avenue when he passed a car headed in the same direction. They say Hewins hit the curb, was thrown from his bike and died at the scene.
The accident is still being investigated.
