Four men from Passaic are accused of trying to scam a 75-year-old Long Island man out of thousands of dollars.

One of the men called the victim and said that his son was in jail. And then a woman called to say he would need to pay more than $15,000 for his release.

The would-be victim called his son who was not in jail and then called the police.

Officers set up a transaction and arrested the four men.

All are in between 20 and 28 years old.
