Families in Middlesex County are cheering the opening of a new playground in Woodbridge that is fully accessible to children with disabilities.
The playground, the first of its kind in Woodbridge Township, has many play areas with wheelchair-accessible ramps and seats wide enough for a child in braces to use.
The playground isn't just fun for handicapped children, but also safe, according to Donna Davidson, who advocated for the playground's construction.
"[The slide] is soft plastic, it's not the metal," she says.
The playground, located at the Matthew Jago School in Sewaran, cost about $250,000 to build.
