Passaic Valley Water Commission to begin annual hydrant flushing today

Customers may see discoloration in the water and are urged to run the tap until the water is clear.

The Passaic Valley Water Commission will begin its annual hydrant flushing throughout its service area today, beginning with Paterson and Clifton.
Flushing will take place on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., weather permitting. As a result, customers may see discoloration in the water and are urged to run the tap until the water is clear.
Municipalities to be flushed include:
  • Clifton
  • Lodi
  • North Arlington
  • Passaic
  • Paterson
  • Prospect Park
  • West Milford (High Crest and Post Brook sections)
The flushing project should be done by November. Customers can stay up to date on areas being flushed by visiting pvwc.com.
