Activists call on state leaders to pass Climate Superfund Act

Climate activists are calling on state leaders to protect the land and punish polluters.
The Climate Revolution Action Network gathered in Hoboken on Thursday in front of the city’s Pier A. This pier was underwater during Superstorm Sandy.
The Generation Z organization wants lawmakers to pass the Climate Superfund Act, which would require certain fossil fuel companies to pay into a fund to help New Jersey rebuild and invest in climate-resistance infrastructure.
"This bill is our solution to not have to put that cost on taxpayers and ratepayers,” says Ben Dziobek, of the Climate Revolution Action Network.
"Today we're uniting residents and workers and faith leaders and labor unions and it's an exciting moment,” says Antoinette Miles, state director of the New Jersey Working Families Party.
The bill is being reviewed by the state Senate budget and appropriations committee.
