The owner of a now-defunct New Jersey wedding photography business has pleaded guilty to theft for failing to deliver photos, albums and videos to hundreds of customers and failing to pay photographers for their work.
News 12 first began looking into allegations against Chester-based Celebration Studios two years ago after receiving calls from couples who said they never received wedding photos and videos they paid for.
The owner of Celebration Studios, Marc Schwartz, will get one year's probation and has agreed to pay $75,000 to photographers he never paid and $3 million in penalties and restitution to the scammed couples.
"With today's pleas, we hold the company and its owner accountable under our criminal code for the way that they conducted business," says New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram.
