Some Elizabeth residents are dealing with a power outage caused by a train pulling down some electrical wires.
Officials say it happened around 1 p.m. Monday when a train hit wires going over the tracks on Division Street, causing multiple poles to be pulled down.
Officials say three cars were hit by the wires and poles, but no one was seriously hurt.
About 1,100 customers in the area lost power for a time. PSE&G and Verizon crews are on the scene making repairs. PSE&G says the company will be installing five new utility poles. They say the repairs are expected to be fully complete around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The intersection at Trumbull and Division streets is closed, and residents are urged to avoid the area for the time being.
