A man was fatally shot in Newark Friday, according to the Essex County prosecutor's office.
It happened on the 100 block of Williams Street around 4:30 p.m.
Responding officers say they found a man who had suffered a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
