Officials approve state funding for UConn sports arenas

Officials approved $10 million for a new video board system, lighting and retractable seating at Gampel Pavillion, where the school's top ranking basketball teams play.

The State Bond Commission approved funding for upgrades to be made to two of UConn's sports arenas Friday.
Officials approved $10 million for a new video board system, lighting and retractable seating at Gampel Pavillion, where the school's top ranking basketball teams play.
Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field will also receive $4 million for security upgrades and new bathrooms.
