The NYPD website has a new feature that breaks down moving violations precinct by precinct, revealing some of the worst spots in the Bronx.

News 12 The Bronx looked at three different violations and found that the 48th Precinct in Tremont is the worst area for speeding so far this year, with cops issuing close to 700 tickets. That high number may be due to the fact that the precinct is located near the Cross Bronx Expressway, Webster Avenue and the Grand Concourse.

The number of tickets is one of the reasons a section of the Grand Concourse became a designated "slow zone," with a speed limit of 25 mph along a five-mile stretch.

Near Van Cortlandt Park, the 50th Precinct has the most tickets this year for drivers not yielding to pedestrians. The ticket leader for cellphone usage is the 40th Precinct in Mott Haven, with more than 300 since January.

The new feature comes at a peak time for Mayor Bill de Blasio's "Vision Zero" plan to completely rid the city of traffic-related fatalities. New bills in the legislative package are being discussed today. If they're passed, slow zone speed limits will go down to 20 mph, and signal timing will be changed to better improve traffic, among other things.
