There’s a plan to help hundreds of thousands of NYCHA residents during the pandemic, with more testing sites opening up.
NYCHA has been hit hard, and for weeks residents and local leaders have been calling for more help to get residents what they need, mainly more information and testing.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says he has a plan to make this a priority.
By Friday, there are some things tenants can expect:
Firstly, six more community health sites will be near NYCHA developments. That will make a total of 11 sites spread out throughout the city run by NYC Health + Hospitals.
One will be at Belvis Health Center in Mott Haven and Cumberland Health Center in Crown Heights. Next week, three NYCHA testing sites will be available, including the Jonathan Williams Houses in Williamsburg.
Second, more supplies like gloves, face coverings and hand sanitizer will be given out to all NYCHA residents.

Lastly, meals will be delivered directly to the door of seniors and vulnerable residents. The city has also partnered up with a team of doctors, nurses and EMTs who are checking in on NYCHA residents and testing them as well.
The city also announced a $5 million investment to give seniors free tablets and internet service so they can connect with their loved ones during isolation.
