Two people were hurt when a tractor-trailer crashed into a pharmacy in Cedar Grove.

Police say the crash happened on Pompton Avenue near Mawal Drive. The crash involved the truck, plus two other vehicles.

“It was a big grumble, and when I saw the front of the truck literally in where the register is, I said, ‘Oh my God, we gotta get out of here. I don’t want the building to explode,’” said Margaret Amireh, whose family owns the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.

The family has owned the pharmacy for nearly 30 years.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. Officials say a gas line was also severed.

Detective Nicole Hoyt said two people were taken to St. Joseph's in Paterson with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

PSE&G cut power to the building and the two tenants who live above the pharmacy were evacuated.

The truck has since been removed from the building.
