New Jersey Transit says that the rail schedule will return to normal this weekend as repairs continue on the signal system at the Portal Bridge.
The agency says trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule Saturday and Sunday with minor delays into and out of New York Penn Station. Midtown Direct service will operate as scheduled.
NJ Transit says that cross-honoring will no longer be in effect.
The issues started Thursday afternoon with signal problems at the bridge. This led to cancellations and heavy delays for most of Thursday and the Friday morning commute.
