A New Jersey- based pharmaceutical company issued a voluntary drug recall on nearly all its products Wednesday following a recent plant inspection.

The recall includes more than 60 varieties of drugs from hospitals and pharmacies that were manufactured at Actavis Totowa's Little Falls plant in Passaic County. The plant produces popular generic forms of medicines such as oxycodone and Vitaplex.

According to a statement published on the company?s Web site, the recall was issued following an inspection of the Little Falls plant, which revealed operations that ?did not meet the FDA's or Actavis' standards for good manufacturing practices.?

The statement emphasized, however, that the product recall was not prompted by customer complaints or health hazards associated with the products. Actavis is urging all patients who were prescribed these medicines to continue taking them as directed.

Patients who do not feel comfortable with taking medications that fall under the recall are asked to contact their physicians and discuss other options.
