The lovely weather made the heavy load of dropping off Valentine?s Day flowers a little easier for Jersey Shore florists and deliverymen.
The lack of extreme temperatures meant flowers were safe to leave outside the homes of people not there to answer the door.
"If it's too cold or too hot, we have to bring it back, leave a note on their door and come back when they call us," says Tom Richardson, of Jersey Shore Florists.
Florists say Friday was their heaviest workload, but that all week has been busy.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than $400 million worth of flowers are sold for Valentine's Day. Roses alone account for $31 million of those sales.
