The Joseph Connors Senior Center is officially open in the Heights section of Jersey City. The center takes up three floors of a building along Central Avenue.
Following a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, seniors enjoyed lunch in the dining area, which they will be able to do five days a week. The center also has a pool table, televisions, social areas and classes to teach seniors how to use their electronic devices. The center also incorporates a branch of the public library.
The center also has hubs for immigration services and veterans affairs. The first floor will hold a food pantry available to the entire community.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
