Statistics show more and more Americans are wrapping up their unwanted holiday gifts, and New Jersey residents agree. It?s an easy solution to a common problem.

More than half of Americans say regifting is becoming more acceptable, according to Money Management International.

Less than 10 percent say they feel cheated or angry when receiving someone else's present. Likewise, New Jersey gift recipients say they don?t feel ashamed or embarrassed regifting. "If I don't want them, I'll just give [them] to someone that needs something," says Bonnie Flagg of Kingsburg.

Others say it?s good to recycle or give unwanted presents to churches, schools in need or the homeless. Etiquette experts say it's okay to regift an item as long as it?s in the original packaging. They also say make sure to take off all the old gift tags and to give the gift to someone in a different social circle from the person who gave it. Lastly, experts advise not lying about regifting because it can always get one in trouble.
