Authorities: Mount Laurel man admits to possession of pipe bombs found in 2023 traffic stop

Authorities say all five of the devices contained numerous metal pellets, an explosive mixture and a pyrotechnic fuse.

A man from Mount Laurel admitted to having pipe bombs in his car during a traffic stop in Hamilton Township back in 2023, according to U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger.

Jeremy Giliberti, 52, was arrested after being pulled over in July 2023. Police said they found four pipe bombs in a duffle bag inside his car. Authorities searched Giliberti's house and say they found a fifth bomb.

According to authorities, all five of the devices contained numerous metal pellets, an explosive mixture and a pyrotechnic fuse.

It’s not clear why Giliberti had the explosives or if he planned to use them.

Giliberti pleaded guilty to charges of possessing destructive devices. He faces up 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced on Dec. 3.
