Several more women have come forward and accused an Essex County doctor of sexual misconduct.

The accusations started last week when one of Dr. Raymond Russomanno?s patients, a 27-year-old woman, told police something about her visits to the doctor made her feel uncomfortable.

Now, investigators say nine other women have come forward and accused Dr. Russomanno of touching them in ways a physician should not touch his patients.

Investigators arrived at Dr. Russomanno?s office at 350 Bloomfield Avenue Monday afternoon and instructed patients inside to leave. Later in the day, two men were taken out of the doctor?s office in handcuffs and put into a squad car, one man presumably being Dr. Russomanno.

The investigators are continuing to search the office for evidence.

Many of the doctor?s female patients don?t believe the accusations against their doctor are true. One woman, who used to work for Dr. Russomanno, said that the doctor?s wife was always in the office with him and that she will stand by her husband.

Dr. Russomanno now faces 38 allegations of sexual misconduct and attempted sexual assault, and one count of sexual assault.
