Music students at Montclair State University have found an unusual place to rehearse as they stay safe during the pandemic.
They are making music in a parking deck.
Choir and instrumental classes are taking place in the open-air garage as a precaution against the spread of the virus.
This fall semester is the first time in months the groups have been able to practice together in person.
"The difference between performing live and online, well, there is no comparison. As live musicians, this is what we're trained to do," says Heather Buchanan, director of University Singers
Most performing arts students take in-person classes at Montclair State, though a majority of other university classes are being held remotely.
