The NYPD is searching for two men who posed as NYCHA employees to carry out a violent robbery at the Cypress Hills Houses in East New York.
Police say the men made their way inside the building, just before 9 a.m. on Aug. 11 and flashed their guns at a 25-year-old woman.
They are accused of stealing about $7,000 in cash, along with jewelry valued at nearly $200,000.
Neighbors told News 12 they’re concerned about safety in the community, though some said they weren’t surprised by the incident.
Police say the suspects were last seen wearing colorful clothes, one in all green and the other in a blue sweater.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
NYCHA employees must identify themselves before entering apartments. They are required to wear their NYCHA IDs at all times in NYCHA buildings.
