Medieval Times workers at the Lyndhurst location have voted to unionize.
In a 26-11 vote, the employees have chosen to join the American Guild of Variety Artists.
News 12 New Jersey previously reported on the push to unionize. Workers said they were fighting for safer work conditions and increased pay.
"We are excited to have won our union and grateful for the solidarity shown by our coworkers. The guidance and assistance of AGVA's staff and members was instrumental in getting us through this process,” the workers said in a statement. “We are proud to join AGVA and the broader labor movement. Additionally, we couldn't be more thankful for the outpouring of support we received from our supporters outside of Medieval Times."
The workers say that they will next bargain for a strong contract and will work with management “to create a fairer, safer and more enjoyable Medieval Times.”
