Manresa Island Corp announces creation of new research station in Norwalk

The nonprofit corporation Manresa Island Corp. announced its new research and education station (R.E.S.A) at the Manresa Wilds in Norwalk.

R.E.SA. will be located along the shoreline park area within the Veteran's Memorial Park and Marina.

The nonprofit is partnering with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, The Maritime Aquarium, Wesleyan University, Sacred Heart University and Norwalk Public Schools.

The station will focus on education and programming to allow students and scientists to work together to preform outdoor field studies.

The nonprofit is investing $500,000 in initial grants.
