Man charged after robbing Paterson White Castle

A Paterson man is facing robbery and criminal mischief charges after allegedly throwing a rock through a White Castle drive-thru window and stealing the cash register early Monday, police said.
Officers responded to the White Castle at 220 Broadway around 3:42 a.m. on a report of a shooting, which turned out to be a robbery, according to police.
Police said a worker told them a man demanded money, then threw a rock through the drive-thru window and took the register, which held an unknown amount of cash, before fleeing.
A short time later, officers found a man matching the suspect’s description nearby, and the victim identified him as the robber, police said.
Edwin Fernandez, 42, of Paterson, was arrested and charged with robbery and criminal mischief.
