A man accused of shooting four people, one fatally, in North Bergen has been found shot in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania.
Authorities say that 27-year-old Jonathan Haughey-Morales was found on the side of a South Whitehall Township road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. South Whitehall police say he was shot hours before he was dumped on the side of the road by someone in a black SUV. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office alleges that Haughey-Morales shot four people inside a home on 46th Street in North Bergen around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. All of the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials say that 40-year-old Carlos Garcia died from his injuries a few hours later.
One victim remains in critical condition. Two others were treated and released.
Morales is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
