Well, for today's main street, New Jersey, we are in Berkeley Heights are Lauren des highlighting some local businesses love that music because that means it's Friday, it's early. But, but uh I'd say you're starting in a bagel shop. Grab us one. She's got the right idea. Of course we are. Yeah, bagels are on Simon. This one's your favorite, right? Jalapeno Cheddar and I have John and Levi here. So what's good here? Oh, everything. We are the best bagels in New Jersey as far as we're concerned in Berkeley. He Exactly. And we're past 78. So, is this Taylor Ham country or this pork roll? Is this Taylor Ham country for sure. But we'll take a right. You don't discriminate when someone comes in order is a pork roll. No, there's no fight about pork. All right. So uh what made you guys open up a bagel shop? We saw there was a need in the community and um we decided, you know, we provide that need for sure. Yeah. How long ago did you do that? We opened up during COVID about 2.5 years ago that it was actually great because we you know, we weren't offering dine in, it was all take out. We don't have any seats. So as we offered the convenience of people to just come pick up the food and, you know, take it home without having to wait in line or anything kind of adapted for that. And it's stuck ever since it's been really great. Yeah, I know. You guys are a big part of the community. Yes, we do a lot of things we tried to give back, we tried to be involved in fundraisers. Anything we can do to give back to the market, loyal customers. That's so great. I see. You got the ducks too, right? We're talking about the duck sport. It's not really a thing, but if it became a thing, right? Yeah. So one of our customers kept dropping them off and now we figured out a way to reutilize them and now we do is we give them to the kids that come in with their parents. Ok. So from ducks to turkeys you guys open on Thanksgiving. Yes, we are. Well, well, hey, you know, you want to skip that, the stress of cooking for breakfast and you know, worry about the dinner and we'll take care of the breakfast for you. Amazing Levi John. Thank you. Yeah, Lauren, another spot we could count on to be open early is a fitness studio. 900 something. It's 908 a 908 athletics. That is where we are by Tony. You got a big crowd here. Tip. Absolutely. Yeah, our 5 a.m. crowd is one of our most committed. They're here five days a week. The timer work. Ok. So you're crossfit affiliated too. That's correct. That's huge. We've been across the gym here for 14 years and we have a second location in Westville. We've been for six years. And what makes this 98 athletic so great. Um, I would say it's gonna be the community. The fact that these people are gonna get here every day, 5 a.m. work out. They form great relationships, they become friends outside of the gym and it just becomes a place of positivity and accountability. Are you open Thanksgiving? We are definitely open on Thanksgiving. Everyone wants to get their sweat in pay before you play. There you go. Let them finish up their workout. And anything else you want to share with New Jersey this morning? We're talking uh dogs now, Lauren tell what you got going on. Look at this. We got, yeah, we got Callie right here and let me tell you, Lillian and Mark this smells like a human spa. But you're telling me there's a doggie spa here too. There's lots of dogs here. We have over, we can have over 100 dogs here. Ok. So what is dot Topia dot Topia is a national franchise? We're actually the world's largest provider of doggy daycare. Um There's over 240 stores nationwide with another 100 stores in works. Um We do do daycare boarding our overnight stays and we do have a full service spa as we were saying. So what made you open this up and start it? We love dogs. We're obsessed with dogs. Everyone who works here is obsessed with dogs and we took our dogs to a doggy daycare. We said this is what we wanna do with the next portion of our life. So we opened in January. We're almost anniversary a year already, which you cannot believe. Thank you. Thank you. Very exciting. Um, and we absolutely love it. Um, Mark can tell you a little bit about the size of our store and we have it here, what's going on? We have over 5000 square feet at our facility here. We have three different playrooms and those are broken down by play style and size. Each of our playrooms are monitored by canine coaches, um, that have over 100 hours of training before they're in the playroom and they're here to monitor the play and make sure that it's a safe and clean environment for all of our pets. And what time do you guys open? Because there's no dogs here yet. Right. We open at seven in the morning and we close at 7 p.m. Look at Kelly, go for our close up, give us something, Callie. How do you feel about dog? Do I love it? It's the most exciting day ever. So, in your calendar too, because we got the holidays camp, a lot of people wanna go away, lots of things going on. So you can do daycare every single day. Like Mark said, it's open 10 hours. We have open 10 hours of open play a day. There's a little nap time in between to let them rest and get some me time. Um, but during the day, we don't just do open play. We have a ton of events. So the calendar that we have has um, we do a free photo shoot every month. We have crafts that the dogs do themselves. We make homemade treats um that are all obviously nutritious and safe for the dogs. Um Super, super fun and we do do a bunch of donation foundation um events where we have the Dog Toia Foundation, which is our purpose beyond profit. We are working towards sponsoring our first us, sponsor dog service dog for a US veteran. Amazing. Every, every week, this month we're selling something that donates g donations, go to the foundation. All right. Well, check them out and we'll let those dogs get out. Get in here. Right. And what's in your hand? Ok. Ready? Ok. This is uh Tik Tok Toe guys. I got it. Rebecca. Sorry, I beat you on tiktok toe. Ok. So what is the hangout in the Heights? I love this. Yeah, it's um basically what it's called, it's a hangout. It's uh we have anything from board games to table games. We have virtual reality in the back. We have golf simulator, show us around. You have the candy in the front too. I love that candy. Yes. It's a must. It's so sleek and so clean. Yeah. Thank you. We try to keep it nice for all ages. We did too cheesy, but also still kid friendly, but adults can have a good time here as well. What made you start this? Um I have four Children and they all um are very bored, always wanting to do stuff and we didn't really have anything in our town and after COVID hit it just kind of got more extreme with them just staying indoors and wanting to be on electronics. So, I just kind of was, yeah, they're kind of something else and they're kind of on electronics but they're with other people. Right. Right. We do have, uh, so we have virtual reality but that one is at least moving. It's not, you're not just sitting there for hours. Um, there's exercises on there. They're getting a workout. A lot of kids will come out and just be like, whoa, I'm so tired. You don't realize. And so you have the party room over there and if there's not a party, you have that open for young kids. Yes. So it's for five and under and they just have, they can come and play with blocks and legos. But we also do parties in that room. So amazing. You got parties. You can even rent out the whole space if you wanted to call for that though. Right. Yes, definitely. We've done lots of events here. You can rent out the whole place for any type of party. So we're at Paris and we have Carolina here. We have a lot of special guests that we want to get to this morning. Right? First and foremost, they got messy behind us over here giving us a thumbs up. We have the mayor, we have Chris with economic development and we also have some police officers here too. Carolina, you have a lot of support here. I mean, a lot going on too. We do. We do. Thank you for coming. Of course. So tell us a little about yourself first because you're pretty interesting. I am all tango. My name is Carolina, my husband and I were tango dancers. Um but we decided to retire after the pandemic right after COVID. Um and we uh we love our country and our culture. So we were thinking, what can we do that will give us the same satisfaction. So we decided to uh open this space. Um not just for coffee and food, but it, but also to share our culture. So, yeah, a lot of Argentina pride around here too. You can definitely see it. And the food is pretty authentic too. Right. Except for one dish. Exactly 100%. Except for one dish. That's my mom's uh version of French toast. They're called Torres. And uh we serve them with fruits on top or maybe just Dulce de Leche, depending on what people like. And what else did you make for us this morning? Well, here we have some of our empanadas. Uh, not fried, no fried. They're all baked. We have 12 different varieties. Here. We have ham and cheese, cheese and chorizo onion and cheese. Portobello, mushroom, eggplant, chicken and beef. Yeah. And this too. I've, I've never seen any restaurant offer this. What is this? I think it's served in San Diego and here at Patria station cafe. This is mate. It's actually a South American drink is not, not only for Argentina and it's really good for you. It has uh many, many different benefits, kind of like green tea but more antioxidants even. And, and yeah. Well, Carolina, thanks for showing us around. We have a lot of hungry people in here. So I think we're all gonna dive in and eat all of this. I'm eyeing up this right here. For today's main street, New Jersey. We are in Berkeley Heights news 12, New Jersey's Lauren do highlighting some local businesses. She's now at the chiropractor Lauren. You're getting an adjustment. I don't know, Tony. Do you need an adjustment? I might need an adjustment. We got Doctor Pat. Good morning. Good morning. How are you? Welcome to Smith Chiropractic Family Care and Sports Injury Center. This at the helm here is uh Carrie office manager and we thought we'd show you what we do here at Smith Chiropractic, what we've been doing for 34 years here in beautiful downtown Berkeley Heights. Let's go mayor. You're next. By the way, we got Angie over there sitting. So we have Virginia. So we have a long time patient here in Virginia. She born and raised in Berkeley Heights. She just had her 50th high school reunion reunion, high school, Virginia. You look like you're 50. So I I believe that I'll be 68 next week. That's living in Berkeley Heights and chiropractic care. Show us some care. So, so, you know, we're just doing our motto here. Your health is our priority, man. That's what, that's what we're all about. We take care of athletes, we take care of families, we have kids. Our oldest patient is 100 and eight years old. I just saw her last Friday. Yeah. She's doing well. Born and raised in New Providence in Berkeley Heights. All right. Something that is in the water. You're right. How great is that? So, you know, Virginia comes in for periodic care to keep her well and keep her pain free and keep her active. And so what we do is we kind of do a quick kinesiological test and she's got, her pelvis tends to rotate here a little bit and she's got a little bit of wear and tear in her neck. So her fifth cervical tends to rotate posteriorly. So what we do is we grab some blocks here, we slide them underneath her pelvis. We use a combination of, you know, traditional chiropractic adjustments, low force, soft tissue. Do you feel anything in Virginia? Like? Does it hurt it? It just, it just, her pelvis starts to just turn, turn into butter here in the butter. And then we, you know, the traditional chiropractic adjustment, which is very, very safe on the appropriate patient. But we uh we find where there's a subluxation, a misaligned vertebrae that pinches and if you don't get it moving, creates degeneration and nerve pressure and, and you can feel it. So we're gonna, we're gonna give a chiropractic adjustment here and there you go. That's, that's chiropractic. That's a traditional chiropractic adjustment. And that's simple. How did that feel? Virginia? Incredible. And then we, then we flip her over. You can hear the control room though in my ear. They were all like, whoa, onto your, onto your stomach here, Virginia. And so we have tables to do almost anything. We can treat almost anybody in this office. This table goes up and down for people who can't get up and down. We treat a lot of degenerative discs and herniated disks. So this table opens and we can, we can by hand, we do everything by hand here. And the nice thing about Smith chiropractic is I'm a solo practitioner. 34 years in practice. I've worked for the biggest group practice in New Jersey, which is right here in Berkeley Heights, Berkeley's Chiropractic Center and then I moved my practice and then this is my second location, but I like the work. Where are you stopping finally today? Lauren? Ok. So Tony and Simon, we have showed you everything around town. So why not finish up at anything floral, which basically has everything sherry. That is true. 30 years of it. 30 years. That's incredible. How do you, what do you think you stayed open for so long? I love what I do. I love what I do. I gave up a corporate job to do this and I always wanted to do it. I just put all my part into it. So I love what I do and I think it shows that I love it. And over the years we've changed a lot. So let's go. We have a lot of gift items and first of all, what is the winter walk up? Because you're part of that, right? We are, I am one of the original organizers and that um still one of the head organizers. We shut down the entire uh street and it's a way for the local businesses to give back to the community. Everything's free. We come down, we have an ice rink. We have like hot chocolate. We have all feel like all blow ups, everything. We, every, all the businesses, all the business is Santa Claus is here and Mrs Claus and the Grinch and, yeah, that's amazing. Ok. Speaking of amazing. Ok, the mayor is amazing too. She's been coming around with us too. Chris from the economic development is uh here too. So you have everything here and a really good brands too, right? Yes. Yes. We've done a lot of research and I try to always go to, I mean COVID was the only time that we really couldn't get out there and actually research stuff. But I do like to go to all the shows and see the new and upcoming things and different trends. So I do try to keep up to date with that even though I might not be up to date, you're up to date and you do flowers here. Do we do a full service florist? We do all different types of events. We do weddings and parties and every day stuff um and even celebrations of life, which is part of what we do. I mean, it does make a bad situation good. So this we do do and we like to focus on a lot of different stuff. Like if you can see, we have P and ES which are not really typically around this time of year. But I like to carry different stuff. It helps to bring, you know, people in for different stuff versus set, set apart from like grocery stores and traditional. This is amazing. This is a one stop shop. This is a must visit for the holiday season. Right. I, I hope so. All right. Well, they are doing anything for a small business, Saturday. Anything that, uh, shoppers should know. Nothing special. We're part of the American Express. So we do, do, we do participate in that and we hope that people come out. We're always looking to support local business.
