It is Friday in time for main street, New Jersey. And this morning we're in North Brunswick News Twelve's Lauren de is highlighting local businesses there. And Lauren, you're learning how to play cricket. It's wicket fun. That's a cricket because Sama has played before, by the way. So we should have a competition. I'm challenging you. Sa let's do it. We have shake here. So tell us where we are right now. So we're inside the batting cages right now. Uh You see we have four lanes. Uh, they're about 100 20 ft long. Each lane is about 12 ft wide. You can see the yellow wickets that we have over there. So when you're playing cricket, that's the, you know, the goal of trying to hit the wickets and on the other side, you have the bowling end. So you'll see the, um, where the guys will bow from the length over there. It's about 60 ft, but we use it for baseball. You see, we have pitching mounds, we have baseball cages and we open up the nets for soccer as well too. So any sport that needs turf and uh, a lane to bat, we uh, they come here and they play here. So you have plenty of space. We have a ca baseball academies, cricket, academies, cricket coaches, baseball coaches that all come here and they, they have a great time, bat and ball. So there you go. There you go. And then you got a league going on too. Yeah. So my dad and I have a league with about 60 teams on Saturdays and Sundays. And, uh, uh, t 20 we play. So it's called Bat and ball Cricket league. So we're starting actually this weekend is the first weekend of the season. So everyone's really excited. So we were here until midnight last night. People, teams are practicing. So they're crazy about it. Should we, uh, give it a go? And I could see because we've only been playing for like a couple of minutes here and we're having so much fun. You gotta have the, the double V. Here we go. Let's see if I could do a live TV. Yep. Yeah. There you go. This is so much fun. You wanna show us how it's really done. Here we go. He's just gonna drop it and go. I do, I do wanna say happy birthday to my wife, Marissa. Yesterday was her birthday. So I love you, Marissa. How sweet. All right. So I'll give you a little bit quicker. There you go. Oh, so the goal is to hit it up in the air, the goal hit it up in the air, hit in the ground, whatever you gotta do, but you gotta have the little form right there. This is so much fun. It's time for main street, New Jersey. And this morning we are in North Brunswick news swells. Lauren do is highlighting local businesses there. And Lauren, did you make another friend? You always make friends wherever you go. We always do. Kelly. Are you bad to the bone? That, that's what the bone says. The toy Elizabeth. Thanks for having us here. We're at Rough Coats boutique. It's not even open yet. So she gave me the little flyer. You're passing these out around town. Yeah. First of a little about Callie Callie is a four year old lab. Um, she is actually a blood donor. She donates at Oradell Animal Hospital. Um, she saved about five dogs lives. Um, and she's uh my therapy dog. She's our therapy dog too this morning. We're epic. So much fun. She senses the energy, she knows so rough cuts boutique. I mean, what, what are you gonna do here? When is it gonna open? Um, it opens May 18th. Um I'm gonna be doing dog grooming. Uh more, try to represent a more positive way for dogs to feel more comfortable coming here. Um And then I also have a daycare portion of it too. That's more also what I'm trying to do. Um, and then I also have pet sitting that I'm trying to implement, having owners feel more comfortable with me going to their house rather than dogs getting boarded. Um, and so, um, because I'm, I used to be a vet tech and I am, I do love animals. Um, I try to make them more, uh, comfortable in different situations. Um, I've always had a, like people would call me the dog whisperer. So I've always just had a, a good way of with animals. She goes, Callie has a bite of her own too. She's just hanging out. She's leaving. Ok. There you go. Ok. Oh my gosh. This is so much fun. Can we spend another, another half an hour here? We're gonna, we're just gonna play with Callie Nick and Simon. I think Alex is in there too. So, but we're gonna, we're just gonna play with Kelly this morning. Bye guys. We're in New Brunswick. Oh, she's giving a hug from New Jersey? Oh, look at that so cute. And I just, I love businesses for dogs because, you know, a lot of times people who don't have pets, they don't realize that dogs are just another family member, so they need all the bells and whistles as well. The toys and everything.

So it's rough, like rough like a dog, rough cuts boutique. Elizabeth. How did I do? Did I do that? Right. Yes. And you're not even open yet. You're a new business up and coming. Yeah, we open May 18th. Yeah. What are you excited about? So you can also have your birthday party at Rough Cuts boutique. Um We are working with a bakery and they actually make personal dog cakes. I love that. This is so cute. I'm so excited for you to open and this ball looks amazing. I said I can't believe like you have three more weeks because you don't really have that much more to do. So take us on a tour. No. So this is gonna be the daycare area. We have a playpen coming in and we're gonna set that up this weekend. Um And then over here is just where we have our grooming and there's a mirror too so rich you can give yourself a little bit. I gotta get Kelly in the background there too. She's taking a nap. Ok. So what's going on at the grooming center over here? Um, so we're gonna have another tub up there, but we have our grooming table here. Um, and then we have an, there's a small little tub for do for smaller dogs, um, just to kind of make it easier from going one spot to another. Um, and then we also are gonna be implementing pet sitting um to try to have owners feel more comfortable with us doing it in their homes. So the dogs feel more comfortable. Yeah. WW what's the whole reasoning behind starting this up? Um I've always wanted to make dogs just a priority because I've always worked with them. Um I used to be a vet technician and uh working with animals is just something I've always loved. Um And then I've always wanted to actually be a business owner and I thought why not try to do grooming on my own? And now here we go and I open May 18th, May 18th, Elizabeth. We're so excited for you. Callie is so sweet. We've had such a great time with her. So uh thank you so much for welcoming us here and good luck in three weeks. Thank you so cool. All right, this morning, we head back to North Brunswick for main street, New Jersey, New Swells. Lauren do is highlighting local businesses there. And Lauren, you're at a deli now, what are you ordering? We are, I don't know, there's muffins, there's bagels, there's sandwiches, anything you want. We're a bagel fresh. We have Joe here. Thanks for helping us this morning. Welcome. Glad you're here. 26 years, 26 years here in North Brunswick, uh selling muffins, selling bagels sandwiches. Uh A lot of families here. Um What's your favorite part about being in the community? Just meeting all the people. You know, you, you see people that come in here almost every day. So you see them more than you see, then you really see your family. So you get to know everybody. You get to know their kids, you get to know their husbands and wives and their, and their families. So it's uh it's fun. You get to talk to people every day. Should we go see if we can find any people to talk to? Look at this. We got some smelly faces here. What are you ordering? Good morning. I'm getting a plain bagel. Um, I work right up the block. I love this place. I've been coming here for years. Um, we have another location down. Uh, great people, great facility. Always busy. I love it. I got another face back there. You got your coffee. So of course you're happy. Right. What are you getting this morning? I was just getting a plain roll of butter and a coffee. I love this place and everybody has to come there. Oh my gosh, there's so much love here, Joe. How does that make you feel that you get all this support? We just randomly asked that I love the people. They're, they're fantastic. And uh when we had the, the issues with COVID, these people came in and they supported us, they made sure that they came and they brought, they brought food, they brought, uh, they supported a lot of local businesses, but it, it really ma made you realize how great people are around here, how they came in and they said we're not gonna let you fail. We're gonna come here and we're gonna buy food here. They were sending food to the hospital, sending food to the police, sending food to the fire. Um which, which helped take care, which helped us. You know, they were giving us the business and they were helping the community by giving them food. All right. Well, we, we want some food, me and rich. We're gonna sit down have some breakfast and then we'll, we'll come back and talk to you in the next 30 minutes. Look at this. It's a revolving door here. We're at Bagel Fresh. It's in North Brunswick Lauren, due east of New Jersey.

And we take you back to North Brunswick this morning for main Street, New Jersey News tells Lauren de is highlighting local businesses there. And Lauren are you ready to eat? It is so time to eat guys. We are an Tikka Masala. We have Kamal here. What is on this menu? It is huge. You have so much stuff on here, first and foremost, right? Uh I would like to thank you all to support small businesses like us. It, it means a lot. Thank you so much and we have a lot of things ready for you all. Uh This is, this is our restaurant right there and um we have tables of fours, we have tables of eight, some bigger seats in the back and we also have more tables of four. So let me take your to food. Amazing. And I love, I love the seats. I love the booze. Everyone likes to eat in a and we have purposely done high uh high backrest so that there is more privacy over here. Oh, very nice. So let me show you all the food here. We have the home style chicken curry where the chicken is on the bones and cooked with onion sauce. Um, not very spicy but medium on the spice. OK. The thing is creamy tomato sauce with spinach and uh, cottage cheese dumplings. It's called the Sham Severa Kofta. And this one is the garlic and Jira rice. I can smell the garlic and, uh, the garlic Naan. Again, there are two more dishes coming out, uh, maybe in a second. And, um, yeah, I hope you all enjoy it. I hope to see you all in the restaurant one of these days. What is your favorite part about being in North Brunswick? Uh, the community is, the Indian community is pretty good and even the non Indian community is supporting us. They are, they are, the word of mouth is spreading out and they are helping us. I was surprised that the mayor's office suggested you all to come to me and that was very, very helpful. Hope this thing goes good. When do you open? What are your hours? We open at 11 o'clock on weekdays and we close at 1030 in the night and we don't close in between like the, like the regular Indian restaurant drill. We don't close between 3 to 5. So we are open throughout the whole day. Well, we have a place to go for lunch and for dinner. I hope to see you all and your entire team. I know you already invited rich and I to sit down and have a he's like, don't go anywhere. So if I'm not back to work, this is why, because we're sitting down and reading and we saw those two other dishes that are still being cooked. Should I go back to the kitchen? Hopefully they're ready for us. Let's go see what we have going on back there. Let's see. And it's so clean too in the kitchen, by the way. Thank you. Thank you. There we go. Look at that.
