Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno met with fourth-graders at Bloomsbury Elementary School Monday to discuss her role in New Jersey government.

Guadagno is currently acting governor while Gov. Chris Christie is away in Missouri. While speaking with the students, Guadagno explained her responsibilities.

"[Gov. Christie] wanted his lieutenant governor to be in charge of red tape, help New Jersey businesses cut through that red tape and bring more business back to New Jersey," she said.

The lieutenant governor chose to come to Bloomsbury after fourth-grader Phoebe Montemurro wrote to her. The students were holding a mock election and Montemurro was running for lieutenant governor. She wanted some pointers about how to run.

"I learned a lot, and it meant a lot because [Lt. Gov. Guadagno] is probably very busy," Montemurro said.

Lt. Gov. Guadagno has been acting as governor a lot in recent times as Gov. Christie mulls a 2016 presidential run. A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday shows an overwhelming number of New Jersey voters think the governor should resign if he does decide to run for president.
