She's known as the “Card Lady,” and she's making a big impact for cancer patients in South Jersey.
Linda Smolinski will often be found at Atlantic Care Cancer Institute in Egg Harbor Township.
Smolinski hands out homemade greeting cards — personalized well-wishes for cancer patients, and the doctors and nurses who are in the fight with them.
Smolinski has created and given out hundreds of these cards. Since she herself is a 14-year cancer survivor, she knows the pick-me-up a gesture like this can provide.
"Card-making has become my mission, to reach as many people as I possibly can,” says Smolinski.
Smolinski says ultimately, her mission is simple - to give patients hope.
