Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash after a vehicle drove onto a sidewalk and struck the front of a Clifton business overnight, damaging multiple windows before leaving the scene.

The damage was discovered around 5:42 a.m. Thursday, June 18, when a passing motorist noticed broken windows and reported it to police, according to the Clifton Police Department.

Officers responding to the business, a childcare center called Tiniest Footprints Early Learners, determined that at some point during the night, a vehicle drove onto the sidewalk, hit several garbage cans and sideswiped the front of the building, shattering glass in multiple windows.

The building was unoccupied at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

Police said the driver did not contact authorities to report the incident and left the scene.
