Traffic frustrations have turned into fear for some because of a second sinkhole on a major road in Morris County. The I-80 closure is pushing thousands of cars into residential areas.
The mayor of Roxbury says additional testing will be done overnight into Wednesday, though unclear which direction.
Assembly Member Aura Dunn says another significant void was discovered over the weekend and is being addressed. Dunn says drilling locations have been identified, with 11 already drilled and four filled. She says additional structural issues have been identified, requiring more work to fully stabilize the roadway and ensure long-term safety.
This new sinkhole opened during repairs to fix a depression found in the road on Monday Feb. 10. NJDOT say it stabilized the 11-foot-by-11-foot sinkhole that was about 4 feet deep on Tuesday night. More work still needs to be done.

Local officials say people are worried about the road long-term.
New Jersey State Police will be manually controlling several traffic signals on Route 10, Route 46, and Route 15 during rush hour to improve traffic flow.
Dunn says repairs are expected to take at least three weeks, depending on weather conditions. The NJDOT has no scheduled date to reopen I-80 Eastbound.
This compromised roadway is 75 feet away from the sinkhole repair completed in December. That sinkhole was caused by an abandoned mineshaft collapsing.
