Local companies turned to New Jersey web-based developers to help boost their online presence in time for Cyber Monday.
The National Retail Federation said about 75 million people took advantage of the online deals.
Adobe Analytics said it was expected to be the biggest online shopping day in history.
Justin Sensebach, founder of
JSMT Media, says he's helped several area businesses develop their e-commerce.
"Your storefront nowadays is online," he says. "Especially with the younger generation. You're looking for anything online, as simple as a slice of pizza, you're going to immediately go to Google and search and whatever comes up is where you're going to end up going. So online is bigger than ever, especially e-commerce."
Gabriella Cetta owns
Cetta Boutique in Wyckoff. She says social media and her website drive business.
"I post every day," she says. "I post in the morning, all new arrivals that I get, put new outfits together and that's how most customers see what I have. They come in because they see what I have from Instagram."
Research from highspeedinternet.com says the top company people in New Jersey buy from online is Apple.
