A lawyer for suspended Rutgers University football star Leonte Carroo says cellphone videos and a witness will help exonerate him of domestic violence.
Attorney William Fetky appeared with Carroo at a court hearing Wednesday in New Jersey. A woman Carroo is accused of attacking after a Sept. 12 football game is seeking a permanent restraining order against him.
Fetky says the woman was the aggressor and Carroo's friend will testify he, not Carroo, grabbed the woman's arm and pushed her down.
Carroo's mother, his girlfriend and his girlfriend's father are charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct related to the fight.
The court hearing was adjourned until Oct. 6.
Outside court, the woman Carroo is accused of attacking said the attorney's statement was false and she didn't provoke the attack.
