A large police investigation is underway in Newark’s South Broad Street neighborhood.
Police have blocked off the area surrounding Clinton and Johnson avenues as of 11 p.m. Monday.
Authorities have not released any information about the investigation. The Newark Police Department referred News 12 New Jersey to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office for information.
News 12 was told there was a possible shooting in the area.
One resident told News 12 that police would not allow him to cross the police tape to go to his home on Johnson Avenue.
