Wall High School senior Brendan Lang is experiencing the anniversary of D-Day in Normandy alongside the men who stormed the beaches 80 years ago.

Lang was selected from an international pool of 1,000 candidates to accompany some of the last living veterans of the operation.

Lang, who is a Navy Junior ROTC Cadet Master, says his love of history started because of the stories of WWII service told by his grandfather.

When Lang returns from his 12-day journey, he’ll begin studying criminology at the College of New Jersey.
