The Little Silver Volunteer Fire Department Company No. 1 donated more than $16,000 to help students with disabilities get an education.
The donation went towards the Brookdale Community College foundation's T.J. Bruno Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship provides tuition assistance each year for 10 students. But this was not the first time that firefighters presented the check to Brookdale.
The department has supported students with disabilities who plan to attend Brookdale for 20 years.
