Thinking back, who was your first friend? It may not have been a person, but rather a teddy bear. That's the point of a Jersey Proud program going on in Gloucester County.
For a few months now, Monroe Township police and the Williamstown Sunrise Rotary have been holding a teddy bear fundraiser. A $500 check was the most recent donation.
The idea is to buy teddy bears or blankets for children in crisis.
The bears are handed out to kids who could use one at a tough time.
