Kaitlyn Schilling just achieved the rank of Eagle Scout for building a flag disposal box.

That box now sits outside Schilling’s home on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Schilling says that when she moved there, she noticed the old wooden box outside an Army building was falling apart. No one had paid any attention to it since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Schilling is now spearheading an effort to build six boxes and station them around the base.
