If you have the need for speed and don't want to wait for the outdoor racetracks to open in a few weeks, no problem because there’s another option.
The CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton has been turned into a dirt speedway with close to 100 race cars ready to tackle the tight indoor circuit. The Indoor Dirt Nationals return for the first time since February 2020.
More than 80 professional drivers from nine states will race in the two-night competition, including husband and wife racers Zack and Morgan Bealer.
“We both came from a racing family, so if it comes down to the end, we are both going to run for that spot, and it is what it is. Might be a quiet ride home but that's OK,” Morgan Bealer said.
“Here it's pretty neat,” Zack Bealer said. “You get 3,500 to 4,000 people in here. You look up and it's all a different atmosphere, just energized you sit back and you're like ‘this is neat.’”
Tickets are available on
Ticketmaster or at the box office. The winner of Saturday night's main finale will get $5,000.
