Ruth Ikan was admitted to the hospital on Aril 11, and fought COVID-19 for weeks, and this week the battle finally ended, and she was the winner.
The hospital hallways lined with its nurses and doctors, holding flowers as Ikan held a sign saying 500.
"I'm not one who's at a loss for words, but this experience was incredibly humbling. It was incredibly exciting for our team," says hospital CEO Tony Cava.

The song 'Here Comes the Sun" is played over the hospital's PA system every time a COVID-19 patient goes home.
"To be able to be wheeled out and see the sun, the emotional connection to that song is just incredible," says Cava.
The hospital says the 500th discharge was the morale booster its staff needed.
