The case of an NFL superstar and his alleged role in dog fighting is leading prosecutors to New Jersey.
News 12 New Jersey?s I-Team investigated dog fighting in the Garden State a few years ago. In those reports, it was found that high level dog fighting has been going on for many years. Several owners of dogs involved in dog fighting were arrested and later charged.
Now, New Jersey dog fighting has been linked to one of the biggest dog-fighting indictments in the country. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was recently charged with taking part in dog fighting.
Prosecutors claim in at least one case, one of Vick?s dogs traveled from Virginia to New Jersey to take part in a fight with a $10,000 prize. Prosecutors say they don?t know who owned the New Jersey dog.
