A historic Catholic church in Paterson is closing indefinitely on Friday.
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church opened almost 100 years ago. It held its last mass Sunday.
News 12 was told the church is closing for much needed building repairs and possible restructuring of Catholic services in the city.
There was no timeframe given for a reopening date. An announcement of the closure described it as "temporary.”
Displaced parishioners are being invited to attend Saint John the Baptist Church that is located just a few blocks away.
