Democratic political power broker George Norcross is calling out New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin for filing racketeering charges against him.
“I want to go to trial in two weeks. I want Matt Platkin to come down here and try this case himself because he’s a coward,” Norcross said.
Platkin said Norcross stepped across legal lines in orchestrating tax benefits for entities he controlled.
The 13-count indictment is another development shaking up the state’s Democratic party.
U.S. Senate candidate Andy Kim won a lawsuit he filed to remove county-line ballots. Party bosses like Norcross would use the county-line ballot system to push their favored candidates during primaries.
Kim wrote a post on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, encouraging people not to disengage from politics as they hear about scandals like Norcross’s indictment and the federal corruption trial of Sen. Bob Menendez. [twitter] https://twitter.com/AndyKimNJ/status/1802843083412783252 [/twitter]
