Dangerously hot temperatures will remain in New Jersey into next week.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Dave Curren says that temperatures in Newark reached 100 degrees on Wednesday, making it the hottest day of the year.
WHAT’S NEXT: Temperatures in the 90s will continue into the weekend, pushing the stretch to seven days of 90 degrees or warmer.
OVERNIGHT: Clear skies with temperatures dipping to the low-80s and upper-70s.
THURSDAY: Temperatures in the upper-90s, with tropical air that makes conditions feel as if they are around 105 degrees. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, with the potential for flooding rains, lightning and damaging winds.
FRIDAY: Hazy and hot, with temperatures around 94 degrees. Overnight lows in the mid-70s.
WEEKEND: Mix of sun and clouds. Daytime highs in the mid- to upper-90s. Overnight lows in the upper-70s.
