The voice coming out of the speaker at the fast food drive-thru usually isn't something you'd remember, unless you've been to the Wendy's in Hamilton Township, where the man there has been making visits memorable for 22 years.
If you've ever gone to the Wendy's drive-thru on Route 33 in Hamilton, you know the voice. For 22 years, Willie Mckoy has been rocking the headset, giving customers a little something extra with every purchase -- the sweet sound of his voice.
“It's just natural,” says Willie. “It comes natural. You treat customers right and they'll come back. Make everybody smile that's right. Treat people the way you want to be treated.”
The lifelong Trenton resident started working at the establishment back in 1998. In 2000, they put him on the speaker and he never left.
“He just brings a smile to everyone that comes to Wendy's, and he brings a smile to his coworkers,” says his wife, Connor Wolfe. “It’s a good attitude to be around. It's positive.”
Willie is so beloved by locals in Hamilton that there is now a fan page on Facebook devoted to him, and that's where people upload videos of their visits to his window.
