A grand jury declined to charge a trooper in a deadly crash in Hunterdon County in October 2024.

The investigation found Sgt. Nicholas Pryszlak tried to pull over Scott Segreaves Jr., 20, but he sped off.

Pryszlak lost sight of Segreaves.

Segreaves fatally crashed when he approached a curve on Stamets Road in Milford at 104 mph, according to officials. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2019 state law requires an investigation into a person's death any time law enforcement is involved.
