Gov. Chris Christie was very busy in Trenton Monday, as he made his way through dozens of proposed legislation. In all, the governor signed 39 bills into law and vetoed 24 others.
Some of the bills the governor signed include making bestiality illegal in New Jersey, prohibiting the sale of powered alcohol and requiring training programs for school bus drivers and school bus aides on interacting with students with special needs.
Gov. Christie did veto most of a package of bills aimed at helping Atlantic City and its struggling casino industry. He says that they wouldn't set the city on a sustainable path to recovery.
However, he did sign a bill that would provide extra school aid to Atlantic City.
A Democrat-led bill that would have automatically registered residents to vote when applying for a driver's licenses was also vetoed. Gov. Christie said it would cost taxpayers $25 million and upend early voting.
A full list of all the bills that were approved and vetoed can be found on the state's website.
